Carers above all else

At Hibernia, we listen to the opinions of all our carers and team members to make the right decisions when it comes to quality and safety. We make it a priority to invest in training and build support programmes that help individuals balance being experts at what they do with being compassionate in how they act. We consider all our carers to be home care professionals.

We want to see you grow, not only as a professional, but as a person. Our culture is one that champions honesty, encourages ownership and creates trust between everyone who works here.

Work-life balance is something we make important, because the health and wellbeing of our team members matters as much to us to that of the people we care for.

Picture your career with Hibernia

Picture a career where you not only provide exceptional care, but feel cared for as an individual, supported and empowered to pursue your educational ambitions and work alongside the best in your industry in a fair and inclusive environment.

Picture a career where the job doesn’t always come first; where you are valued for the skills obtained, but also for who you are as an individual: your values, beliefs, passions, and ambitions.

Before we founded Hibernia, we pictured it, too. Now we live it, every day.

What we value

Our word is our bond

When we say we will deliver, we always follow through – all the way through – each day, internally and externally.

Care as a way of being

Care is not just a business function for us; it’s interwoven into the fabric of our people and processes; it’s our way of being.

Sincerity in straightforwardness

We are straight-talking but kind, warm but direct. Honesty is at the root of all of our communications and actions.

Courage and vulnerability as one

We are vulnerable so we can be courageous. We believe that by opening up, others may do the same, creating a warmer, healthier environment that encourages expression and trust.

Hibernia Academy for Care: Putting highly-trained carers in our community

Many people in Ireland are in need of quality, safe and reliable home care. However, so many carers working in Irish communities do not have the proper training, practical skills support or qualifications. So, as part of our mission to improve both the perception, safety and quality of home care in Ireland, Hibernia has established its Hibernia Academy for Care. Much more than an online training course, Hibernia Academy for Care provides a clear pathway to employment for those who have the drive and desire to care for people, but need support to attain the skills.

The training programme consists of two QQI Level 5 Modules:

It also comprises training in practical care skills, Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons, and Infection Control. Paired with 1 to 1 on-site support and mentorship from the Hibernia Senior Management Team, each participant receives assistance with assignments and coursework to meet the mandatory requirements for working in the sector. Those who complete this training will be supported by Hibernia to complete the remaining six modules needed to achieve QQI Level 5 Major Award – Healthcare Support and develop their Personal Development Plan supported by educational credits provided by the company.

Hibernia Academy for Care is a cornerstone of our commitment to training and education, quality and safety, and realising our vision to transform home care, for good.
