What we do and how we help
Whatever type of care you or your family member are thinking about, we can provide it. In any case, the first thing we’re always going to do is meet with you, listen to you, assess your needs, and create the best-tailored plan for you.

How to access our services?
Hibernia provides care to HSE-funded service users all across Dublin. This HSE scheme aims to support people to live at home for as long as possible and provides support with activities of daily living based on individual needs.
The HSE Home Support Service is free, and you don’t need a medical card to apply. The service is available to those aged 65 or over and to those with disabilities under the age of 65.
You can find out more on this scheme at the HSE website:
or download an application form here:
Home Support Service Information Booklet and Application Form 2022 (hse.ie)
If you need help with your application or want to talk about your options, contact us here
If you don’t qualify for HSE funded home care or you require additional care, we offer home care on a private basis to you or your loved one at competitive rates.
We provide care on a 7-day basis, including overnight care based on an assessment of your needs that we co-develop with you. We’ll build a package to support you, maintain your independence and offer high quality cost-effective care at home.
Tax relief is available at the payer’s marginal rate of either 20% or 40%.
Contact us for a no-obligation chat about home care options and packages.
Tax Relief on fees for home care are available to service users and their immediate families (spouses, civil partners, children).
The tax relief is available at the highest marginal rate payable by the person who pays for the home care service.
When claiming tax relief for home care costs, you can claim at your highest tax rate but on the lower of these two figures:
- The actual cost you pay for home care
- The maximum deduction of €75,000
You can read more about tax relief on home care here
The claim is made through the Revenue MyAccount Portal or by completing form HK1 https://www.revenue.ie/en/personal-tax-credits-reliefs-and-exemptions/documents/form-hk1.pdf
The process might seem daunting, but don’t worry: we’d be happy to help you fill in the forms and claim your tax relief.
If you or your loved one require more home care support than HSE funding will allow, Hibernia offers options for supplemental private in-home care. Contact us to find out more about our rates and the tax relief available.
