Our commitment to Education is a cornerstone of everything we do at Hibernia. Our education programmes support our team members continous professional development and our pioneering Hibernia Academy supports prospective team members to attain the neccessary knowledge competence and skills to become Home Care Professionals.
Introductory programme
We provide an introductory course that is suitable for new entrants with little to no experience or for existing carers who may not have yet obtained their formal qualifications.
During this introductory training programme, learners complete two QQI Level 5 Modules leading to a career as a Home Care Support Professional:
- Hibernia Induction
- Care of the Older Person
- Care Skills
- Carer Shadowing
- Health and Safety
- Disability Care
A fresh approach to a career in care
Our training is delivered face to face in our new, spacious facility.
New Entrant Journey
Throughout this three-week programme, learners receive an in-depth introduction to the sector and by the end, are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills and competence needed to successfully work as a Home Care Professional.
Each person receives one to one on-site support and mentorship from the Hibernia Senior Management Team, as well as assistance with assignments and coursework. Once the two core modules have been completed, we hope that each individual will go on to obtain their full QQI Level 5 Healthcare Award, and Hibernia is committed to helping each individual achieve this.
We also believe in lifelong learning and wish to support those who want to further their studies in leadership and supervision.
Team Member Journey
Hibernia Academy for Care provides Home Care Professionals with a meaningful career pathway, and our education and mentorship team work closely with each individual to design a Professional Development Plan (PDP).
We offer progression opportunities across multiple areas and believe in supporting the personal and professional development of each of our team members.
Hibernia Academy for Care can help people to realise their full potential through the provision of multiple learning, development and coaching opportunities. Individuals can expect to receive expert guidance, support and mentorship during their time with us.
Achieving Major Award or additional relevant modules such as specialist training. Educational Credits as part of PDP.
